Before Go-Home Day

Your New Puppy Checklist

A little preparation makes your baby's first days calm and happy. Here's everything to have ready before you bring your Pigs N Poodles puppy home.

🍽️ Food & Water

  • TLC Whole Life Puppy Food — the food your puppy is already eating (order ahead so it's home before they are)
  • NuVet Vitamins — required for your health warranty; order before pickup
  • Stainless steel or ceramic food & water bowls
  • Healthy training treats

🛌️ Sleep & Space

  • Crate — sized for your puppy now, not their adult size (or a divider)
  • Soft crate bed or washable blankets
  • An exercise pen or gated area for safe, unsupervised time
  • A quiet corner away from busy foot traffic

🧭 Potty & Cleanup

  • Puppy pee pads (helpful during the transition)
  • Enzyme cleaner for accidents
  • Poop bags
  • Collar or harness & a lightweight leash

🧸 Comfort & Play

  • Safe chew toys (great for teething)
  • A soft snuggle toy for comfort
  • A shirt or blanket that smells like you
  • Puppy-safe shampoo & a soft brush

🩺 Health & Safety

  • Book your vet visit within 2 days of pickup (required by warranty)
  • Puppy-proof: cords, small objects, toxic plants, cleaning supplies
  • Baby gates for stairs and off-limit rooms
  • Keep your paperwork & health records together

🚗 For the Ride Home

  • A carrier or crate for safe travel
  • Towels or a blanket (car sickness happens)
  • Water & a small bowl for long drives
  • Someone to comfort the puppy if you're not driving
A gentle reminder: keep the first few days calm and quiet. Your puppy is leaving everything they've known, so limit visitors, stick to their TLC food to avoid tummy upset, and give them plenty of rest. Slow and steady wins their trust — and their heart.
