Q: My pet’s food already has the “same” vitamins, is it okay to give extra vitamins?
A: The manufacturing process of pet food is essential to keeping the quality of food high. Pet foods that are cooked (almost all) tend to kill off vital and naturally occurring nutrients from many of the ingredients. For instance, vegetables, when you cook them, you’re cooking away crucial minerals, enzymes, and vitamins. This is why many food companies may add synthetic vitamins. Unfortunately, synthetic vitamins are not absorbed the same as are natural vitamins (like those contained in the NuVet Plus®). NuVet Labs uses a “cold processing” method in our manufacturing practices and none of our ingredients are exposed to heat, which removes crucial nutrients in the natural ingredients. Take, for example, the chicken liver. We use real chicken liver that is paddle-dried using a patented process. This ensures the fragile Vitamins A, E, B1, Digestive Enzymes and Omega Fatty Acids are not destroyed. The “cold-processing” of NuVet Plus® ingredients also ensures it is easy on the metabolism of your pet (easy to absorb and process). This is why the multivitamin supplement is still necessary and beneficial for your pet, even if they are getting a good dog food. Even good dog food uses grains and by-products, so make sure you read your pets dog food label before purchasing.
Q: How long does it take to receive my order?
A: Depending upon your location and what day of the week you ordered, (ie. Friday as opposed to a Monday), your package should arrive by ground transportation between 3 to 7 business days. Expedited shipping is available upon request with a customer service representative.
Q: Do NuVet Plus® and NuJoint Plus® have to be given with food?
A: NuVet Plus® and NuJoint Plus® can be given at any time of day, with or without food. They can even be given as a treat, once daily. NuVet Plus® and NuJoint Plus® contain all-natural, human-grade (non-synthetic) ingredients that will not have any negative reactions with any medications your pet may be taking.
Q: How much should I give my pet?
A: The recommended maintenance dosage of NuVet Plus® for a pet that weighs less than 5 lbs. is a half wafer/serving daily. Pets from 5-100 lbs. require one wafer/serving per day, and dogs over 100 lbs. should be given two wafers/servings daily. For pets with health conditions, we typically recommend to temporarily increase the standard maintenance dosage listed on the bottle, since doing so should provide an extra boost to the immune system and speed the healing process. The initial loading dosage we recommend is dependent upon your pet's weight, as well as on the type and severity of the particular ailment he or she is experiencing. Please contact our Customer Service department to obtain specific dosage recommendations for pets with ailments.
Q: Does Nuvet accept payment via PayPal?
A: Yes. If you are interested in using this form of payment, please first contact our customer service department. To submit your payment via PayPal, please direct the payment to paypal@nuvet.com. However, AutoShip orders must be paid for using either a credit or debit card.
Q: What is Nuvets return policy?
A: Nuvet has a 60-day return policy. You must call our office to obtain a Return Authorization number before returning any product to us. Once we have received the returned product to our facility, we will issue a refund to the original method of payment used. If after trying the product you are not satisfied, you may return it for a refund of the product price. To receive a refund, you must first contact our office for a Return Authorization number. The RA number and the account holder's first and last name must be clearly marked on the outside of the package. The customer is responsible for return shipping charges. Customers will receive a refund for the product cost (less shipping & handling) and a 20% destruction fee will apply. Due to safety regulations, this destruction fee applies whether or not the bottles have been opened. Please contact a Customer Service representative for more information.
