OUR VISITOR POLICY
We are dedicated to raising the healthiest puppy possible for your family. For this reason, we have necessary policies in place for visitors.
Application form & deposit must be completed first
Parvo is an opportunistic and fatal disease that can infect a puppy in a matter of 24 hrs. It is shed by infected dogs and can live for months on hard surfaces and grass, and on your shoes. It is not a disease that affects humans therefore it would be difficult to know whether a member of one of our visiting families was a carrier. This is simply a risk we will not take with your puppy-to-be. For this reason...we will not allow any visitors who do not have a vested interest in the litter.
We only extend visitation privileges to families who have placed a deposit and are selecting and/or picking up their puppy in person. Thank you for your understanding.
We do not allow families without a deposit to visit our puppies before six weeks. Why? Because 'puppy shopping' can indicate a family visiting multiple breeders and potentially spreading life-threatening viruses like parvo and more.
We have health concerns for our mothers. Activity and new people in the house are a significant source of stress for nursing Moms. Stressed Moms also can get frantic and accidentally step on puppies if they panic. This is not an acceptable option.
Puppies are at their most vulnerable before 4-5 weeks old, and in their fear period at 5-6 weeks. We will share as many videos and photos as time allows, for you to view our puppies. Once the puppies are 6 weeks old, their eyes and ears are functioning and they have gotten steadier on their feet, they are more interactive. We feel that families get the most out of visits at this age, as they can interact with them.
We raise our puppies in our home because we believe that home raising puppies is both ethically the right thing to do, as well as producing the best possible results when you bring your puppy home, so please honor our home when visiting.
Because our many of our puppies are spoken for before they're born, we feel it's our responsibility to our new puppy families to keep their puppy safe and healthy while it's in our care.
If you are on the waiting list you are welcome to visit once the puppies are 6 weeks old and get their first set of vaccinations. Our puppies are temperament-tested and we will take pictures and send to you of our puppies at birth and every week until they go to their new homes. You will have several pictures / videos of your puppy by the time they leave us.
When it is time to come and pick up your puppy, we request that you do not visit any other kennels, pet stores, breeders, or places where there could be unvaccinated dogs. Please also shower and wear freshly washed clothes the day of your visit to our home. We ask that you take your shoes off at the door and use hand sanitizer. We also ask that all kids sit on the floor when holding and playing with the puppies.
For the safety of our mothers and their babies, we ask that you do not bring your pets to our home.
****Suppose you are uncomfortable placing a deposit without meeting us or the pups first. In that case, we can accommodate your visit by allowing you to place the deposit and then when visiting the puppies , if you choose it's not the right fit for you or your family, we will be happy to return the deposit back to you at the time of the decision.
We reserve the right to withhold any puppy for our breeding program.
We reserve the right to refuse to sell a puppy when circumstances indicate it is not in the best interest of the puppy.
